Two Bluesy Blondes

Closing the festival with a bang, a belt, and a bluesy wink.
Two Bluesy Blondes bring the curtain down on the NZ Blues, Roots & Groove Festival with a set that’s equal parts sass, soul, and serious musicianship. Expect powerhouse vocals, harmonica howls, and a band that grooves like nobody’s business. Whether you’re a die-hard blues fan or just love a good time, this is the grand finale you don’t want to miss.

Two Bluesy Blondes are the ultimate pairing of powerhouse vocals and cheeky charm, fronted by Erna Ferry and Julie Lamb. Forged from a shared love of blues and a flair for the theatrical, this dynamic duo delivers a high-energy set that swings from traditional blues to sassy, genre-bending grooves. With Erna’s jazz-blues finesse and Julie’s rock-infused soul, they create a musical chemistry that’s as infectious as it is unforgettable. These guys are funny, frightfully good, and boast a stellar band of wonderful groovers:
- Erna Ferry – vocals & harmonica
- Julie Lamb – vocals & bad jokes
- Andrew Richardson – drums
- Callum Hazlitt-Black – bass
- Duncan Haynes – keys
- Matt Fitzpatrick – guitar
- Blair Latham – sax
“The idea of bringing together both Palmerston North’s supreme jazz vocalist Erna Ferry and Wellington’s much-acclaimed singer-songwriter Julie Lamb for a night of passionate blues was indeed inspired, allowing these two vocalists to fully relax into their programme of covers of blues classics, creating an unforgettable night.” — Stephen Fisher
